Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey – New Channel 4 Series Featuring Hurtigruten!
Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey – Channel 4 January 2026!
We’re pleased to share news of a brand-new Channel 4 travel series, Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey, created in partnership with Hurtigruten. This three-part journey follows Lorraine as she sails along Norway’s breathtaking coast, visiting a selection of ports on Hurtigruten’s iconic route between Bergen and Kirkenes. Dramatic fjords, coastal communities, local food and Nordic culture are brought to life throughout, while unforgettable nature moments are promised, including the Northern Lights.
Each hour-long episode will be available on Channel 4, and it’s set to be a wonderful watch for anyone who loves Scandinavia. In addition, the series celebrates slower travel, where landscapes are experienced at sea level and stories are shared by the people who live along the coast.
Lorraine’s route is shown through a mix of sailing days and time ashore, with experiences shaped by the seasons and the communities along the way. Viewers can expect scenery that shifts from deep fjords and rugged islands to Arctic horizons, plus authentic moments that go beyond the usual highlights. Hurtigruten has connected Norway’s coastal communities for more than 130 years, sailing year-round between Bergen and Kirkenes. As a result, the voyage feels like a living coastal lifeline as well as a scenic journey, with ports and islands that larger ships often can’t reach.
Across the series, Lorraine’s highlights include time in Trondheim’s foodie scene, local encounters in the north, and classic coastal sailing under winter skies. Also featured are distinctive cultural experiences, from Sámi stories by the fire to coastal food traditions shaped by the sea
Episode 1 – Journey into the Fjords (Aired Jan 15, 2026)

Episode 2 – Traditions and Tastes (Aired Jan 22, 2026)
This episode focuses on the culture and livelihoods of Northern Norway. Lorraine visits Svolvær in the Lofoten Islands to harvest seaweed with local entrepreneurs. Episode 3 – Arctic Wonders (Expected Jan 29, 2026)
The final leg takes Lorraine further north toward Tromsø. She sails aboard the MS Kong Harald, specifically chasing the Northern Lights under dark Arctic skies. The journey includes a visit to the world’s northernmost whisky distillery to see how modern industries are emerging in the far north.
