Hurtigruten has been sailing and caring for the Norwegian coast since 1893, proudly becoming a national icon for generations of Norwegians and a cherished experience for travellers worldwide. With over 130 years of history, Hurtigruten connects 34 coastal communities between Bergen and Kirkenes on its renowned Original voyages. Known as ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage,’ these journeys deliver freight, celebrate local culture, and showcase Norway’s breathtaking coastal landscapes.
To celebrate its 130-year anniversary in 2023, Hurtigruten introduced an exclusive range of Signature cruises. These premium sailings highlight Norway’s most stunning locations, allowing guests several hours in each port to fully immerse themselves in the beauty and charm of the region. Guests can explore the Arctic’s remote Svalbard archipelago during the summer on the Svalbard Line or experience the entire length of Norway’s coastline during winter on the North Cape Line. Signature cruises also feature elevated dining with two restaurants included at no extra cost, an inclusive drinks package, and a host of onboard activities.
Hurtigruten’s commitment to sustainability drives its operations. Major green upgrades are underway across all seven coastal ships, making the fleet more energy-efficient by cutting CO2 emissions by 25% and NOx emissions by 80%. Three ships are being transformed with hybrid power, ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable way to travel. The company also works to strengthen local communities by sourcing produce from regional suppliers and offering excursions that benefit the people who call Norway’s coast home.
Beyond just a holiday, Hurtigruten’s voyages are an invitation to embrace Norway’s culture, witness extraordinary natural wonders, and explore fragile ecosystems while fostering a deep connection with the environment. Combining exploration with sustainability, Hurtigruten delivers transformative travel experiences that truly honour the places and people they visit.
