We’re pleased to share news of a brand-new Channel 4 travel series, Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey, created in partnership with Hurtigruten. This three-part journey follows Lorraine as she sails along Norway’s breathtaking coast, visiting a selection of ports on Hurtigruten’s iconic route between Bergen and Kirkenes. Dramatic fjords, coastal communities, local food and Nordic culture are brought to life throughout, while unforgettable nature moments are promised, including the Northern Lights.
Each hour-long episode will be available on Channel 4, and it’s set to be a wonderful watch for anyone who loves Scandinavia. In addition, the series celebrates slower travel, where landscapes are experienced at sea level and stories are shared by the people who live along the coast.
The first two episodes take viewers along the Danube, travelling from Budapest in Hungary, through Austria, and on to Nuremberg and Bamberg in Germany. Along the way, Angela explores elegant cities, historic landmarks, beautiful riverside scenery and cultural highlights including Vienna’s café culture, the Spanish Riding School, the Wachau Valley, Salzburg, Regensburg and the UNESCO-listed city of Bamberg.
Episodes three and four move to the mighty Mekong, with a journey from Cambodia to Vietnam. From sunrise at Angkor Wat and traditional villages along the river, to silk-making, local markets, eco-tourism projects, ancient temples and the vibrant energy of Ho Chi Minh City, the series offers a fascinating insight into life along one of Asia’s most captivating waterways.
