Cruise Overview

Join this 2024 river cruise through Portugal and admire the landscapes and quaint towns of the UNESCO-listed Douro Valley, one of the oldest wine-producing regions of the world.

Sample regional delicacies and enjoy wine tastings as you step away from the main tourist drag to explore such attractions as Lamego's baroque Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, the miraculous city of Salamanca – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – and the medieval town of Figueira Castelo de Rodrigo.

You’ve seen the Mateus Rosé wine label, now visit the 18th-century Casa de Mateus Palace, and round off your cruise with a tasting in a port wine cellar in Oporto…

Spirit of the Douro combines modern facilities with traditional style. Relax on a sun deck sunlounger or take a dip in the open-air splash pool as the green scenery of the Douro Valley passes by. Other facilities aboard the ship include a small gift shop and a spa with a fitness room.

During your cruise there will also be entertainment local to the region through which you are cruising, such as Portuguese folk music.

Cabins on the upper and main decks have floor-to-ceiling windows which open to form French balconies, while cabins on the lower deck have smaller windows that do not open. All cabins are en suite and have twin or double beds, as well as a television, hairdryer, safe and tea and coffee-making facilities.
