Scenic Ikon Makes Its Debut in London: A Glamorous Launch at Bulgari Hotel

Last Thursday our Director Toni Evans was privileged to be invited an exclusive event hosted at the famed Bulgari Hotel London in Knightsbridge where the travel world turned its attention to one of London’s most elegant venues as Scenic Group unveiled its newest jewel: Scenic Ikon.

A Night of Luxury and Vision

Guests gathered in the sleek, modern interiors of the Bulgari Hotel—a setting befitting the sophistication of Scenic’s latest Discovery Yacht. The event mingled high design with high ambition: a celebration not just of a ship, but of a new era in expedition cruising. Champagne flowed, travel advisors and media mingled, and Scenic Group Chairman and Founder, Glen Moroney, and his management team shared their vision for what Ikon promises to deliver.

The Star of the Show: Scenic Ikon

Scenic Ikon is far from your typical cruise ship. This state-of-the-art Discovery Yacht is purpose-built for versatility — able to navigate both tropical seas and polar ice with ease. It’s fully rated for Polar Code 6 and carries an Ice Class 1A Super-strengthened hull, positioning it among the elite in luxury expedition cruising.

Here’s what makes Ikon stand out:

Capacity & Design: Accommodating up to 270 guests across 135 all-veranda suites spanning five decks.

Extraordinary Access: Equipped with two Airbus helicopters, Zodiacs, and a Triton AVA submersible called Scenic Neptune III.

Wellness & Relaxation: A striking 1,700 sqm two-level Senses Rejuvenation Spa, with hydrotherapy, thermal experiences, and world-class fitness.

Culinary Range: 15 distinctive dining venues, elegant lounges, and social spaces reflecting Scenic’s all-inclusive philosophy.

A Journey of Exploration

Scenic Ikon’s maiden season is scheduled to begin in April 2028, departing from Venice. Over the course of 2028–2029, it will visit 110 ports in 21 countries, spanning warm destinations like the Mediterranean, Egypt, and the Aegean, as well as wild frontiers such as Antarctica, the Falkland Islands, and the Chilean Fjords.

Elevated Experiences

Perhaps the most thrilling aspect of Ikon’s offering is its helicopter program. As part of Scenic’s “all-inclusive” promise, guests booking certain fare categories will receive complimentary flightseeing excursions. For penthouse and owner’s suite guests, there are even exclusive helicopter landings at golf courses, historic landmarks, and remote landscapes.

Below the surface, the Triton submersible opens up another dimension – guests can explore underwater realms, potentially revealing life and landscapes otherwise inaccessible.

The Business of Discovery

Building Scenic Ikon has been no small feat. The yacht is being constructed by MKM Yachts, Scenic’s in-house division, and the journey from steel-cutting (in February) to keel-laying (May 2025) has already been marked by major milestones. Delivery is on track for end of 2027, with final testing before entry into service.

Glen Moroney, Founder & Chairman of Scenic Group, emphasized that the ship is the result of “more than three years of passion, innovation and development” — and that it will be staffed entirely by a dedicated Scenic crew.

Launch Offers & Invites

To mark the occasion, Scenic has rolled out exclusive launch pricing for early bookers: up to 15% off, return flights included, and complimentary chauffeur transfers for select itineraries. Plus, the reduced initial deposit of £1,000 per person makes securing a suite more accessible — but it’s only available until 30 April 2026 for now. These great promotional lacuna offers, together with the Art of Travel bonus offer and exceptional service makes this a great time to book!

Final Thoughts

The evening at the Bulgari Hotel was more than a product launch — it felt like the opening chapter of a grand adventure. Scenic Ikon is not just a ship; it’s a statement: that luxury travel can be daring, that exploration can be refined, and that the future of cruising lies in sophistication meeting sustainability.

For those with wanderlust and a taste for opulence, the journey aboard Ikon promises to be unforgettable. And for Scenic, this is just the beginning.
