Art of Travel Charity Spotlight – The 2wish Service of Remembrance

Art of Travel Charity Spotlight

Honouring 2wish and Reflecting on a Year of Compassion, Community & Remembrance — 2025

At Art of Travel, we believe that journeys are not always about the miles we travel — sometimes they are about the people we walk beside. In 2023, we proudly chose 2wish as the charity we support, standing alongside an organisation whose purpose is both powerful and profoundly human: to ensure that anyone affected by the sudden death of a child or young person never has to face their grief alone.

As this year draws to a close, we want to reflect on all that 2wish has achieved, and on the extraordinary compassion we witnessed at their Service of Remembrance this past weekend.

A Moving Moment: The 2wish Service of Remembrance

Llandaff Cathedral — 6 December 2025

On Saturday, we had the privilege of attending the 2wish Service of Remembrance at the beautiful Llandaff Cathedral — a deeply moving gathering that brought together families, friends, supporters, and members of the community to honour children and young people lost too soon.

The cathedral’s soaring architecture, winter light and soft candle glow created a gentle, reflective space. Readings, music, and contributions from families filled the cathedral with emotion — grief, yes, but also love courage and a shared sense of connection. Each child remembered, each name spoken, was held with dignity and tenderness.

For many, December can be an especially difficult month. Yet on Saturday, the atmosphere was one of quiet strength. A reminder that even in sorrow, solidarity brings warmth. At Art of Travel, we were humbled to stand among so many brave families and supporters — and more committed than ever to championing the vital work 2wish does every day.

The service was both emotional, moving, yet there felt great strength in unity, care, compassion, and love. We lit candles and sang carols, listened to Erin Griffiths, who sang the most beautiful solo, the wonderful 2wish choir, Cor Seren, and Georgia Evans playing the harp, as well as Liz and Pete, who bravely came forward together and shared their daughter Anna’s story. In such desperate times, Anna’s parents wanted to fulfil a promise to Anna that she never be forgotten, as part of this promise they created Anna’s Song – https://www.annassong.org/

We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Iain at Jack Hayward Insurance, who generously insured the harp used at both the 2wish Christmas Soiree and the Service of Remembrance — entirely free of charge and in full support of the charity.

2wish in 2025: A Year of Growth, Hope & National Impact

A Dedicated New Home for Families

Earlier this year, 2wish opened their new premises in Llantrisant — a warm, welcoming space designed specifically for grieving families. With a private family room and peaceful garden area, it offers a safe place for conversations, quiet moments, and healing.

Immediate and Long-Term Support

2wish continues to offer immediate support within 48 hours of a sudden loss — providing memory boxes, home visits, and guidance — followed by long-term care through counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, and peer support. Their services recognise that grief isn’t linear, and support shouldn’t have an expiry date.

Reaching More People Than Ever

Throughout 2025, the charity expanded its operations across new regions and expending from Wales in England, strengthening support networks for families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by sudden death. Their message is clear: no one should have to navigate trauma or loss alone.

Events That Bring People Together

Memory walks, community gatherings, workshops and fundraising events throughout the year have helped create bonds between families with shared experiences. These events remind us that while loss changes everything, connection can change how we carry it.

Why Art of Travel Supports 2wish

As a travel company, we celebrate discovery, connection, and the power of shared experiences. Supporting 2wish aligns with our values in a way that feels deeply meaningful:

They walk with people when life becomes unrecognisable.

They offer compassion without conditions.

They create spaces where grief can be spoken, shared, and understood.

The Service of Remembrance affirmed everything we admire about 2wish — their humanity, their courage, and their dedication to helping families in their darkest moments.

Looking Ahead

Saturday’s service reminded us why our partnership with 2wish matters — not just to us as a company, but to the families whose journeys they support every day.

As we move into 2026, Art of Travel will continue to champion their work, raise awareness, and help ensure their vital services reach every family who needs them.

To the entire 2wish team: thank you for all you do.
To the families we stood beside at Llandaff Cathedral: we hold you in our thoughts.
And to everyone reading: we invite you to learn more, donate if you can, or simply share their story – https://2wish.org.uk/.

Because remembrance is love — and love deserves to be supported.
