The ship’s tall masts and billowing sails evoked a sense of nostalgia for the golden age of sailing. As we departed from the picturesque city of Cannes, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement for the adventures that lay ahead. 

  

  

Exploring Monaco: Our first stop was the glamorous Principality of Monaco, a haven for the rich and famous. The Star Clipper gracefully sailed into the harbour, providing a stunning view of the iconic Monte Carlo Casino and the luxurious yachts lining the shore. I ventured into the narrow streets of Monaco-Ville, the old town, where I discovered charming cafes, historic landmarks, and the magnificent Prince’s Palace. From the panoramic vistas at the Jardin Exotique to the opulent elegance of the Oceanographic Museum, Monaco left an indelible impression on us. 

  

Sailing to Corsica: Leaving Monaco behind, we continued our journey across the Mediterranean towards the captivating island of Corsica. As the Star Clipper navigated the crystal-clear waters, I stood on the deck, captivated by the rugged coastline and pristine beaches that came into view. Corsica, with its rugged mountains and untouched natural beauty, felt like a hidden paradise. I explored the charming town of Ajaccio, the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, and wandered through its narrow streets, lined with colourful houses and quaint boutiques. I also had the opportunity to relax on the sun-drenched beaches, immersing myself in the tranquillity of this Mediterranean gem. 

  

  

Sailing the Tyrrhenian Sea: After bidding farewell to Corsica, we set sail across the Tyrrhenian Sea once again. The Star Clipper’s elegant design provided the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the vastness of the open sea. 

  

Arrival in Civitavecchia: As we approached the final destination of Civitavecchia, the anticipation of exploring the wonders of Rome filled the air. With its ancient ruins, captivating art, and vibrant culture, Rome beckoned with its timeless allure. After disembarking from the Star Clipper, I embarked on a journey through history, walking in the footsteps of emperors at the Colosseum, marvelling at the grandeur of the Vatican City, and indulging in the culinary delights of the Eternal City.
