Our FAM Trip with Riverside River Cruises on Riverside Ravel!
We’ve just returned from a FAM trip with Riverside Luxury Cruises, sailing aboard the beautiful Riverside Ravel, and it truly was an unforgettable journey. From the moment we stepped onboard, the ship felt warm and welcoming, with an elegance that set the tone for the entire holiday. The attentive service and thoughtful little touches made every day feel extra special.
One of the first features that impressed us was the pool. For a river ship, it is a generous size, positioned at the back for panoramic views as you swim. Even better, it includes a resistance function, making it ideal for those who want a proper workout while still enjoying the scenery. It is a unique addition that sets the Ravel apart and adds to the sense of leisure on board.
Of course, dining was another highlight. Every meal was beautifully prepared, offering a wide range of options from regional specialities to international favourites. The quality and presentation were consistently excellent. Guests can enjoy the freedom of an all-inclusive option, with drinks always available for a relaxed and carefree experience. Alternatively, the full-board option provides flexibility for those who prefer a different style of holiday.
Our excursions were equally memorable and added so much to the overall experience. Two, in particular, stood out:
Lavender Fields – A wonderfully fragrant day where we created our own lavender body butter and even tasted lavender ice cream. It was an authentic and immersive experience that will be hard to forget.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Wine Tasting – A dream excursion for wine lovers, where we sampled outstanding vintages paired perfectly with regional cheeses. It offered a real insight into the heritage and artistry behind this world-renowned wine.
It’s the smaller touches that also help Riverside stand out. A fun fact we discovered—Riverside’s owner loves popcorn, so every ship features popcorn stations. It’s a simple idea, yet one that adds an element of fun, and we definitely enjoyed it more than once during our time onboard!
Looking back, our experience on the Riverside Ravel was exceptional. From the pool and gourmet dining to the unique excursions and thoughtful extras, this ship offers a style of river cruising that feels indulgent, personal, and refreshingly different.
